  • How can I tell if I have termites?

The trouble with termites is that you might not realise you have them until it’s too late. Many homeowners don’t have the training to recognise early warning signs that an infestation is occurring. They usually realise there is a problem only when they notice the damage that has already been done to their homes. For this reason, it is a good idea to have an annual inspection and preventative treatment if you live in a high-risk area. Allied Pest Management can come to your home or business and provide a thorough inspection to determine if you have a termite problem. We have the training to recognise a budding infestation during the earliest stages, so we can take care of the problem before it becomes a major issue.

  • Are cockroaches dangerous?

The cockroaches themselves are not necessarily dangerous, but they do carry disease causing bacteria that may be spread into your food, dishes and other sensitive locations if you have roaches living in your kitchen. Their fecal matter can also become airborne, and is a major contributing factor to childhood asthma, as well as allergy symptoms in those who are sensitive. For these reasons, it’s important that you take care of a cockroach infestation as soon as possible.

  • Why are roaches so hard to kill?

Roaches are highly adaptable, and can pass down newly evolved survival mechanisms in as little as a few generations. They easily become resistant to many baits and pesticides, thus making them harder to kill. Additionally, over-the-counter pesticide treatments are often watered down, since homeowners are not trained or equipped to handle stronger pesticides. This makes them generally less effective for real infestations. Our team has an arsenal of heavy-duty bug killers that are potent enough to provide the killing power you need.

  • How long does a termite inspection take?

Most termite inspections can be completed in under 2 hours for most residential homes, though this will depend on the size and complexity of the building being inspected.
